What a day for our incredible U7s as they took part in their very first cup final — and what an achievement it was!
From nerves and excitement to goals, celebrations and unforgettable memories, this young team showed exactly what being part of Northumberland Heath FC is all about: teamwork, determination and enjoying every moment together.
A Wobbly Start, A Brilliant Response
The first fixture saw The Heath take on Dulwich Hamlet Pink. Like many finals, the nerves were clear to see early on and the boys started a little wobbly. But as the game went on, confidence grew, they found their rhythm and soon started playing the football we know they’re capable of.
After a fantastic effort and great determination, the game finished in an exciting 2–2 draw, setting the tone for a brilliant day of football.
Supporting One Another
While waiting for our next fixture, players, coaches, family and friends stood proudly on the sidelines supporting both teams as Dulwich Hamlet Pink faced Fleetdown United. It was brilliant to see the spirit of grassroots football on show, with encouragement coming from everywhere.
Dulwich eventually finished 3–1 winners, putting themselves in a strong position heading into the final round of matches.
One Final Push
The final game saw Northumberland Heath face Fleetdown United, knowing there was still everything to play for.
The Heath came out strong, creating chances and pushing forward with confidence, but Fleetdown stood firm defensively and proved difficult to break down. After a hard-fought battle full of effort, determination and team spirit, the match ended 1–1.
That result meant:
🥇 Dulwich Hamlet Pink — 1st Place
🥈 Northumberland Heath FC — 2nd Place
🥉 Fleetdown United — 3rd Place
So Proud of This Team
To finish runners-up in their first ever cup final is an incredible achievement and one every single player should be immensely proud of.
The growth, effort and determination this group has shown throughout the season has been amazing to watch, and this final was another huge step in their journey.
Every player proudly received a medal to celebrate their efforts — a moment they will no doubt remember for a long time — and a special mention also goes to Coach Georgie and Coach Mus, who were recognised too for their commitment, support and hard work with the team.
To all the players, coaches, parents and supporters — thank you for making it such a special day.
