The manager’s half-time chat was a tough one. He wasn’t happy with the performance, and he made it clear in a way the lads hadn’t seen before. He knew they had more to give. The response came in the second half, much stronger, more determined and the boys brought the win home.
With such a promising pre-season and this being our first league game, the gaffer’s standards are high, and he knows this team can reach (and maintain) them. This match will be used as a lesson as we move forward through the league.
