NORTHUMBERLAND HEATH FC vs chelsfield fc
After the previous fixture was called into question due to the officials not completing their duties correctly, the rematch was set... and this time, it was settled properly on the pitch.
Firstly, we want to mention the incredible turnout from both sets of supporters. The noise, the energy and the commitment to stand in the wet and VERY cold conditions did not go unnoticed - thank you to everyone who came down to back the teams
Now to the football...
This time, it took the full 90 minutes (plus a few added on) to secure the win - but we got the job done.
It was a fair, clean and competitive game throughout, with both sides giving absolutely everything.
Georgie opened the scoring, followed shortly after by a confidently taken penalty. Aaron then added the third - and what a goal it was... an absolute screamer, Credit to Chelsfield, who converted a penalty of their own and added another when our momentum dipped, making it a tense and competitive battle.
From there, it was end-to-end stuff - like a tennis match at times - with both teams pushing, probing and refusing to back down. We always say we love a challenge, and Chelsfield certainly gave us one... not once, but twice.
No doubt our paths will cross again somewhere down the line. Until then, we wish Chelsfield all the very best for the rest of the season.
