NORTHUMBERLAND HEATH FC vs langley park athletic

After a midweek location change, we found ourselves playing a home game on neutral ground in Gravesend. Despite the ongoing construction around the site, the facilities were clean, well kept, and had a relaxed feel about them. Definitely a venue we’re looking forward to revisiting once the work is completed.

Turning to the game itself, from a spectator’s point of view, the overall display went largely as expected.

That said, credit where it’s due: they did have a few lively moments and created the odd chance here and there. Those opportunities mostly came when we briefly switched off, but each time our defence reacted quickly and decisively. The back line stayed organised, the goalkeeper did exactly what was required when called upon, and the rest of the team rallied together to regain control.

We went into half-time 1–0 up, before pulling away in the second half. A disallowed offside goal didn’t slow the momentum, and we eventually ran out convincing 5–0 winners and through to the Semi-Final of the Kent Junior B Cup!

Fingers crossed this one is truly at home, so you can join us on the sidelines, get behind the lads, and hopefully celebrate booking our place in another semi-final together! ⚽🙌
