The Gaffer seemed a lot happier after this one! For the most part, the team played extremely well - working together, communicating, and putting their training into action. Having faced London Legends before, we had a good idea of what to expect. They gave us the odd challenge here and there, but when we got things right, they were easily broken down — and that's exactly what we did.
By half-time, we were already five goals up! Two absolute crackers from Mr P, one from Feltham, one from Bland, and one from Scotty! We could've had even more - including a penalty for Mr P that was brilliantly saved, with the keeper also stopping the rebound. Mr P came close again soon after, clipping the post this time. The excitement in the crowd throughout that first half was electric.
The second half began - but was quickly paused when a helicopter landed in the field behind us! Once that bit of drama was out of the way, play resumed, and we carried on pushing. We eventually walked away with a 7-0 win! Sean smashed in a beauty - one of those shots you'd normally expect to end up on the moon - and our SUPER SUB Georgie added another. Charlie thought he'd added another, only for the flag to go up just as he began celebrating — unlucky, that one!
Despite the heavy scoreline, credit to London Legends. They're a young side facing seasoned first-team adults, and every time we've played them, they've given a strong account of themselves. We're sure our paths will cross again - until then, heads up London Legends.
